2020 Week 12 – Prayers Needed

Before the lockdown we visited our church, in Biggleswade. I have a key and the church was empty, so we had time and space for a quiet prayer and meditation. I bought a candle to burn for us all next to the picture of St Peter and his promise to Our Lord. He failed in that promise at one point, but don’t we all fail at least some of the time?

Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.

I had to take a car to the garage in the village for its annual check (MOT). This garage belongs to an enthusiast and he normally has some interesting vehicle or two in the back being worked on. This time it was a 1973 MGB Roadster with lovely alloy wheels (not original). I had such a sports car in 1978/79 but I had an accident with it on a lonely road in the Scottish Highlands and had to sell it to pay the garage bill. I replaced it with an Alfa Romeo GT1600 Junior – a sexier car but less reliable than my ‘B roadster.
